Greennovation and Erganeo announce the signing of an exclusive license agreement to accelerate the development of electro-membrane processes supporting the ecological transition.
At a time when environmental challenges, particularly those related to CO₂ capture and valorization, are becoming increasingly critical, improving electro-membrane processes is a key lever for progress. These technologies are central to numerous applications in water treatment and energy, including electrodialysis, electrolysis, and reverse electrodialysis (RED). Within this context, a conductivity clamp has been developed to accurately and reproducibly measure the ionic conductivity of ion-exchange membranes. Simple to implement, this solution significantly facilitates characterization phases while improving the reliability of results.
Developed at the Institute of Chemistry and Materials Paris-Est (ICMPE – UPEC / CNRS) under the leadership of Professor Lasâad Dammak, this innovation led to a patent application filed by Erganeo and granted in 2019. In March of this year, an exclusive licensing agreement was signed in favor of Greennovation. Founded in Provence in 2025 by Wendy Garcia, a former PhD researcher at the laboratory, Greennovation embodies the entrepreneurial momentum emerging from academic research and is strongly committed to accelerating innovation in the field of electrochemistry. The start-up was notably awarded the French Tech Emergence Grant by Bpifrance at the end of 2025, supporting the development of its first technological solutions.
The objective of this collaboration is clear: to better understand membrane properties in order to optimize, compare, and industrialize electro-membrane processes. By facilitating access to reliable measurements, this technology will enable users to accelerate the development and scale-up of their solutions. It is intended for start-ups and industrial companies developing electrochemical processes, as well as public and private research laboratories.
Furthermore, this innovation fully aligns with the ecological transition objectives for 2030, particularly by contributing to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “We are particularly proud to offer an innovation directly stemming from public research that addresses major industrial and environmental challenges. Following the establishment of a production line, we will be able to bring this product to market by the end of the year,” said Wendy Garcia, CEO of Greennovation.
